“A family recipe, three generations strong.”
La Chelita began in the 1970s, when Graciela “Chelita” Ramirez opened a small tortilleria called La Tapatía.
She made everything by hand, from fresh masa to homemade salsa.
For her neighbors, her food meant warmth, comfort, and family.
Over time, La Tapatía became more than a restaurant, it was a gathering place.
Families celebrated birthdays, workers stopped by after long shifts, and everyone knew Chelita by name.
She welcomed everyone with kindness and never turned anyone away.
Today, Chelita’s granddaughter Jessica carries on that legacy.
Raised in Texas with deep Jalisco roots, she’s reimagining her abuela’s recipes for a new generation.
Her vision blends tradition and creativity, keeping the same heart, but a new rhythm.
La Chelita is more than food. It’s history, love, and community. Every tortilla, every flavor, every smile keeps Chelita’s spirit alive. Our story is still being written, one meal at a time.
Thank you for being part of our story.
